Nomads we are

Being the daughter of a man serving in Indian Air Force, i really feel proud to be called as the daughter of an air warrior. He has been contributing his life for nation from almost 28 years and now is on the verge of retirement from the service

CHANGING PLACES, EXCHANGING CULTURES
changing places sucks, but guys believe me it’s interesting too. Travelling in nearly almost every corner of our country I consider myself as a nomad, changing shelters in every five years. But when it comes to the culture, I learned a lot.
Now I consider myself a polyglot knowing many languages. Just kidding !!
Life is horrible in this country. Sadder still we expect our young men to go in the battle and play ping pong with their lives.

LIFE HERE GOES ON…
Air force bases are basically self contained cities with everything you need to live.
I have a pretty thorough understanding of spending 19 years of my life in AF campuses.
People from different backgrounds, cultures and domains surrounds us and a mutual understanding starts developing between all.

ARE WE RESPECTED ??
The Air Force’s most valuable asset is it’s people. 15 years after the kargil war the question which still comes to my mind is why it was fought ?? It took 522 lives including every soldier who faught till the last drop of their blood. But nothing happened right to correct the terrible wrong that happened to Captain kalia.
What signal does this give to soldiers who go into battle willing to sacrifice their lives ?

WE HAVE THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF WAR WIDOWS..
Yes, the number of widows in our country is 25,000 !! Our culture does not make it easy for them to marry again.
We can never do enough for soldiers. Life in India is terrible for widows. They are harassed, tortured and left in darkness of unending taunts. But guys, can you tell me what was their fault ? Instead they should be respected to marry a soldier.

My father is a soldier and I respect him for being as well as I feel proud for me and my family. As for a soldier his nation comes first.
Friends, atleast admire the dedication of a soldier. We owe them that much. So let us make our voices count, so that no politician or bureaucarts can play with their lives..
